Future Star: Layton Duke, a Panther prodigy

Layton DukeFuture Stars is a new website feature highlighting a young local football player competing at the earliest stages of football in Union County.

Our first video profile is of a young, 10-year old Piedmont running back wearing the number two jersey, Layton Duke.

Layton, who attends Fairview Elementary, recently scored three rushing touchdowns against Parkwood on September 5, 2015.

The young Panther has quick feet, showing the ability to avoid tacklers and navigate through traffic. Layton’s Piedmont team, thanks to his scoring efforts, led his team in their win over Parkwood, 24-6.

It looks like Layton will fit in nicely (in a few years) into Coach Hyatt’s double-wing offense. Congratulations to Layton on an impressive outing and all the best for the rest of the season.
