Parkwood names Speakman new head coach

Tim SpeakmanParkwood High School has named Tim Speakman to lead the football program as head coach, replacing Lynn Coble who resigned early in January after six years at the helm.

Speakman is currently teaching physical education at Parkwood Middle and coaching the Parkwood HS softball team. The Ohio-native has over 25 years of collegiate and high school coaching experience. Before joining Parkwood, he most recently coached at Ave Maria University leading their softball program (2010-16) and coached football as offensive coordinator from 2010-2013 at the University.

According to the press release from Parkwood High School, Speakman was the tight ends coach at Appalachian State University from 2002-2005 and the head football coach at Palmetto Ridge High School in Naples, Florida from 2005-2008. The Palmetto Ridge Bears had a 19-22 record under Speakman.

Athletic Director Nelson Garner stated, “We are very excited to introduce coach Speakman as our next head football coach here at Parkwood. He brings tremendous enthusiasm, and as our next head football coach here at Parkwood. He brings tremendous enthusiasm, and a proven track record of success on and off the field and in the classroom everywhere he has coached.”
