The awards and well deserved recognition continue to roll in for the 2011 Porter Ridge High School football program. Last night, February 14, 2012, the Indian Trail Town Council honored the Porter Ridge Pirate football team with a Certificate of Recognition.

In a ceremony conducted during a regular council meeting, Mayor Michael L. Alvarez, declared that the Porter Ridge Pirates be honored for their accomplishments in 2011 and called on the community of Indian Trail to join in the celebration of their success.

In a season where the Pirates finished 14-1, with a third consecutive Southern Carolina Conference Championship, a Western NC Regional Championship and their only loss coming in the State Championship, this event caps the greatest season in the short history of Pirate football.
