On March 14, everything changed for students across North Carolina. Schools closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a result, the lives of student-athletes put on hold.
Nine days later, another announcement from the state that school- closing would extend until May 14.
Finally, on April 24, the Governor of North Carolina decided to shut down schools for the remainder of the school year.
Despite the negative news, our student-athletes are finding ways to work on their craft while maintaining respect for the virus responsible for this shutdown.
As we continue to navigate through this crisis, I'll profile some of our local athletes that are being resourceful and optimistic despite the obstacles.
Today, my interview is with Weddington's rising senior offensive lineman, Nick Aderholt.
Aderholt started all 16 games in Weddington's 2019 state championship season and was an integral part of a Warrior offensive line that helped generate 5,870 offensive yards and 88 touchdowns.
Below, my conversation with the Weddington offensive lineman.
Thanks to Ashleigh Mock for all of her great photos used in the production of this video.
