Jetta Hase ('21), QB/DB- Central Academy Cougars

By Tim Winters, 06/07/20, 5:30PM EDT

On March 14, everything changed for students across North Carolina. Schools closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a result, the lives of student-athletes put on hold.

Nine days later, another announcement from the state that school- closing would extend until May 14.

Finally, on April 24, the Governor of North Carolina decided to shut down schools for the remainder of the school year.

Despite the negative news, our student-athletes are finding ways to work on their craft while maintaining respect for the virus responsible for this shutdown.

As we continue to navigate through this crisis, I'll profile some of our local athletes that are being resourceful and optimistic despite the obstacles.

Today, my interview is with Central Academy's rising senior quarterback/defensive back, Jetta Hase.

Central Academy dropped its varsity program after the  2017 season because of a dwindling roster making it a challenge to manage games on Friday night.

After two years of JV football,  Hase and the Cougars are ready to return to the spotlight of varsity football.

Below, my conversation with the Central Academy QB/DB.
