Friday Night Lights has returned thanks to Dan Orner of Dan Orner's Kicking & Punting.  On Friday night, September 4, on the turf at Olympic High School, some of North Carolina's top high school kickers, punters, and long snappers competed and worked at their craft under simulated game situations.

With high school football's start delayed (thanks Covid-19) until Spring 2021, Orner launched his "Friday Night Lights" experience as a learning/training platform outside of his instructional sessions for a group of athletes that receive little to no attention during the offseason or regular season for that matter.

Based on everything I witnessed, the first night was a success with kickers, punters, and long snappers receiving a ton of quality reps.

Union County had five players in attendance- Braeden McAlister (K-JR-Porter Ridge), Bryce McFerson (K-JR-Metrolina Christian), and long snappers, Alex McLaughlin (SR-Weddington), Aaron Brannock (SR-Sun Valley), and Damien Jackson (SR-Porter Ridge).

Below, my short chat with Dan Orner at the end of Friday's event.
