The Weddington Warriors dominated the Monroe Redhawks, 45-14, in their final home game on Senior Night. The Warriors have now won 30 consecutive games, with their last loss coming on September 28, 2018, to Charlotte Catholic.
Despite having played only two football games in the last 27 days thanks to contact tracing, the Warriors showed little rust scoring on their first possession of the game and hanging 35 points on the scoreboard at halftime.
Sophomore running back Kyle Parsons led Weddington's ground game with 135 yards and three touchdowns.
The Warriors have traditionally produced dominating offensive lines. Still, I would argue that this current O-Line has produced more 100-yard games by running backs not named Will Shipley than any prior class. They are quick, fundamentally sound, and execute at high efficiency.
Weddington moves to 4-0 on the season and has Piedmont on the schedule in four days and Cuthbertson to close out the regular season in eight days.
