Last night, Weddington defeated Porter Ridge, 27-7, in a conference battle in Indian Trail, NC.
After a tight, defensive first half that saw both teams trade touchdowns, the second half saw a young Weddington offensive line opening up lanes for the Warriors' ground game. Senior Kyle Parson's would benefit rushing for 202 yards on 18 carries and two touchdowns.
At the 7:19 mark of the third quarter, Weddington senior Dalen Gordon ducked and shook off two tackles on his way into the end zone for the go-ahead score (14-7, Warriors) and ultimate game-winning touchdown.

Parsons (six-foot, 180-pounds) perhaps spurred on by the Porter RIdge student section in the first half who were chanting "You need Shipley," busted three long runs, two of them in the second half for touchdowns that secured the Weddington win on the road.
