Marvin Ridge toppled Charlotte Catholic, 20-19, in what has to be the greatest comeback win in the history of Marvin Ridge football.

Trailing 19-0 at halftime, the Mavericks scored on their opening drive and scored both times after two big defensive stops to move onto the second round of the 4A playoffs.

Since the school's opening in 2007, Marvin Ridge had never defeated Charlotte Catholic until last night.  It will be a game long remembered by all who competed and those who bore witness to everything that is good about high school football.

After the game, I caught up with sophomore quarterback Evan Medders, senior defensive lineman Devin Reed, and head coach Aubrey Carter. All three discussed the game and the importance of the win.
