Julius Chambers defeated Weddington, 45-14, ending the Warriors' playoff run and season.

Chambers took their opening possession and drove down the field, consuming yards and time on their way to their first score and a lead they would never relinquish.

Trailing 14-0, senior Kyle Parsons playing in his last game as a Warrior broke through the line and raced down the sidelines for 73-yards and the touchdown pulling Weddington to within seven of Chambers.

The Parsons' TD and the momentum gained quickly vanished in nineteen seconds later thanks to a perfectly executed flea-flicker touchdown putting Chambers back up by fourteen points.

It was going to be one of those nights, and for Weddington, that's not something they are accustomed to having, especially at home in the playoffs.

Two times in the red zone in the first half, the Warriors came away with no points on the scoreboard. That is hard to overcome versus most teams, but it's nearly impossible in the playoffs against a school that has won two consecutive state titles at the 4AA level.

Chambers would score three more touchdowns in the second half, adding a field goal for good measure. Finally, Weddington would tack on one last touchdown of their season when senior Grady Brosterhous hit Landyn Backey on a 32-yard touchdown strike.

Weddington wrapped up their season with a 12-2 record, a conference championship, and three senior players (Backey, Brosterhous, and Parsons) leading the county statistically at their positions.
