Metrolina Christian topped Country Day, 18-7, on Friday night at home to deliver the Warriors' first win of the season and their first win over one of Charlotte's big four private schools.

During Thomas Langley's tenure as head coach of the program he built, he has seen won many significant games, but Friday's victory was a statement game. Before Friday night's victory, Metrolina had never beaten any of Charlotte's big four private schools (Country Day, Providence Day, Charlotte Christian, and Charlotte Latin.)

It was a game that Metrolina was in control of from the start scoring a touchdown on their opening drive. Then, in the final seconds of the second quarter, in driving rain, Metrolina's senior QB, Reid Eighmy, hit Jeremy Williams for a touchdown sending the home team into halftime with an 18-7 lead. The Warriors' running game and defense took over in the second half to secure the win. (Video below)

* Unfortunately, I missed Country Day's TD when I was retrieving an umbrella from my car.
